 WinAmp 3 qui est depuis bien longtemps en version Alpha, vient de passer au stade de la Bêta.
C'est donc la version Bêta 1 que vous pourrez télécharger. Voici les nouveautés de cette veriosn (en anlgais) :
Components :
Whereas Winamp 2x had a cumbersome Plug-in structure that added isolated functionality on top of base music playing, Winamp 3 is now a platform that natively supports interrelated "Components" that in effect become Winamp.
To better illustrate, think about this common scenario : To create a personalized audio mix, a person must locate songs he/she likes online, perhaps with some sort of file-sharing program, download them to hard drive, rearrange them for flavor, convert them to WAV format, then burn them onto CD.
With Winamp 2x, you already can do all this a step at a time. But once each of these Components is built, Winamp 3 will eventually be able to do all this with one button. Additionally, if certain guidelines are followed, each Component will automatically carry the look and feel of Winamp, possibly becoming skinnable, floatable, dockable, and/or drag-and-droppable.
Skins :
Traditional Skin developers will be interested to know that Winamp 3's Component Studio will be completely resizable, meaning Skins will look best as stretchable textures, rather than as pixel perfect pictures.
However, the traditional Player piece will still be skinned in the 2x way, except without the numerous coordinate bugs that have plagued Winamp until now. Skins will now be able to be alpha blended and layered. This means that if you have a Brushed Steel Skin and an Arctic Ice Skin, you can combine the two to get a "Cold Steel" Skin.
As mentioned before, all Winamp Components can optionally use the selected Skin. Something exciting and new in Winamp 3 is the ability to change the user interface by adding, moving, or completely removing screen elements such as listboxes, buttons and controls for maximum user happiness. The added customizability will lead to greater control and ease of use for our users.
Playlist Editor :
Along with the usual world class MP3 playback, Winamp 3 is now equipped with quite possibly the world's most advanced playlist editor. It intelligently scans selected directories for media and maintains them in an insanely fast XML-based database wherein you can associate an indefinite number of user-defined attributes to each element.
You can then quickly query the database for any attribute, such as album, artist and genre. Attributes are not limited to the data contained within the ID3 information, though. You will be able to associate pictures and/or Winamp commands as attributes.
For instance, you could display a CD cover or start a specific visualization everytime a certain song began play. The possibilities are endless, and the ability for Component crosstalk means the playlist editor will only grow more powerful as time goes by.
En fait il faut retenir que WinAmp s'est totalement modifié pour s'adapter aux nouveaux besoins du consommateur de musique en ligne (avec des systèmes integrés adaptés à ces besoins), aux dévellopeurs de skins en leur permettant une plus grande fléxibilité dans la modification et en rénovant le système de playlist géré maintenant par une base de donnée en XML.
